Good Thursday morning! Yesterday, for the first time since I started The Morning Receipt, I missed an edition. I was really sick. I have not been taking care of myself, and eating 1 meal a day has caught up with me. That has been my financial reality, not a wellness routine I found on the internet.
This publication is read in all 50 states and 68 countries and consistently ranks among Substack’s Top 100 Rising U.S. Politics publications. Behind those numbers is just me, doing this work while raising my 7-year-old twins by myself in poverty. I am proud of what we are building. I also need to be honest: it has to be funded for me to keep doing it.
To the incredible few who tipped me yesterday, thank you. I went to the store and bought a couple of things for myself to eat. I have celiac disease and cannot eat gluten, which makes feeding myself on very little money that much harder. A lot of the cheap food is food I cannot eat. Your help became something I could actually put on my plate.
